SkyBop – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
SkyBop is an arcade game made by Adam Widar. We collect as little as possible: no accounts, no email, no advertising and no tracking. This page explains the small amount of data that is used for the online features: DUO, cloud save and the online leaderboard.
Data stored on your device
Your progress (scores, coins, unlocked birds and worlds, settings, recorded DUO runs and friend codes you add) is saved on your device. Apart from the online features (below), it is never sent to the developer. You can delete it at any time under Settings › RESET PROGRESS, or by deleting the app.
Online features (our server)
Online DUO lets you race real players' recorded runs and send short challenge codes. Cloud save backs up your progress so you can restore it on a new phone, and the online leaderboard lets iPhone and Android players compare scores. When online features are on (Settings › ONLINE DUO, on by default), SkyBop sends the following to our server at api.skybopgame.com (hosted by Cloudflare):
- a random player ID and secret key created on your device (not your Apple ID, Google account, email or device ID),
- your player name (the name you chose, or your Game Center nickname),
- your DUO runs: world, score, height, bird and the path your bird flew,
- your DUO rating, wins and losses,
- reports you send about inappropriate player names,
- your best score per world (with height and bird) for the online leaderboard,
- a copy of your game progress for cloud save (coins, unlocked birds and worlds, upgrades, records and similar game data).
Other players can see your player name, score and run when they race you or use your challenge code, and your player name and best scores on the online leaderboard. Your cloud save is private: it can only be restored with your save code. We only use this data to run these features. We do not sell it, share it or use it for advertising. Old runs are deleted automatically (we keep a few of your best and latest runs per world).
Delete your online data at any time: turn off Settings › ONLINE DUO, or use RESET PROGRESS. This deletes everything about you on the server immediately. Inappropriate names can be reported in DUO; reported players are blocked for you, and names reported by several players are hidden.
Game Center (Apple)
If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, SkyBop sends your scores to Apple's Game Center leaderboards, where other players can see your Game Center nickname and best score. This is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn Game Center off or change your nickname under iPhone Settings › Game Center. SkyBop works fully without it.
Cloud save codes
Settings › CLOUD SAVE › COPY copies your save code (like SAVE-7K2Q-9XQ4) to your clipboard. Keep it somewhere safe – anyone with the code can restore your progress. When you tap RESTORE, SkyBop reads the clipboard once to find a save code, and asks you to confirm before your progress is replaced.
DUO friend codes
When you choose SEND CHALLENGE, SkyBop stores your run on the DUO server and copies a short code (like SKY-7K2Q9X) to your clipboard for you to share. Offline, the code contains the run itself. When you choose PASTE CODE, SkyBop reads the clipboard once to find a friend's code.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no login, no email, no real names required.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers, no tracking.
- No location, contacts, camera or microphone.
- No in-app purchases.
- Local reminders (if enabled) are scheduled on your device and can be turned off in Settings.
Children
SkyBop is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes
If SkyBop changes what it collects, this policy will be updated before that update is released.
